Today, March 17, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Ivan Stoynev, PhD, managing partner at our law firm and candidate for Chair of the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC), was a guest on the “This Morning” show on bTV.
In his interview, he emphasized that effective competition protection is a key factor for economic development and ensuring equal opportunities for all market participants. He highlighted the need for institutional reform and the development of strong expert capacity within the CPC to enhance the competition authority’s effectiveness.
Assoc. Prof. Stoynev pointed out that the CPC’s past activity has raised questions about its effectiveness in countering unfair market practices and cartel agreements. According to him, reforming the Commission and appointing competent and independent experts is key to ensuring a free and competitive market.
At the beginning of the discussion, he expressed his condolences for the tragedy in North Macedonia, emphasizing that in moments like these, borders do not matter.
