On February 6, 2025, the Court of Justice of the European Union hosted a formal event in honor of Judge Alexander Arabadjiev, whose term as a judge at the Court ended in late 2024. Over his 18 years in office, Judge Arabadjiev played a key role in the development of EU law, particularly in the fields of competition law, social protection, and environmental preservation.
During the event, the special Liber Amicorum collection was presented, featuring scholarly contributions from leading European legal experts. We are proud to share that among the authors is Assoc. Prof. Ivan Stoynev, Managing Partner at Stoynev & Partners.
His study focuses on the Deutsche Bahn case, which is undeniably pivotal in the evolution of competition law. The study examines the complex balance between the effectiveness of competition authorities’ investigative powers and the protection of fundamental rights of undertakings. The analysis is based on both in-depth knowledge of competition law and the firm’s extensive practical experience in representing clients in similar proceedings.
At Stoynev & Partners, we believe that the combination of academic expertise and years of practical experience is the key to successfully protecting our clients’ interests. Over the years, we have actively participated in numerous competition cases, proving our ability to safeguard business interests in the most challenging and complex proceedings. Assoc. Prof. Stoynev’s contribution to this prestigious collection reaffirms our commitment to high professional standards and a strong level of protection for rights of undertakings—principles that have earned us a leading position in the field of competition law.
